Using Wicked Redirect Links

There are scenarios where you will not be able to put the Wicked Track Script on a page you are sending traffic to.  It could be from an email, an ad...it really doesn't matter.  If our Tracking Script cannot be put on the page, but you want to be tracking the clicks, you'll need to use Wicked Redirect Links.

To create a Wicked Redirect Link, go to Tracking Tools > Redirects inside of your account. Or, click here to be taken to the page directly.

This video will give you a tour of how to create them and why you would use them.

Please note: This is an older version of Wicked Reports. The UI is quite different now, but the content of this video remains the same.

Why would I use the Stealth Mode setting?

If you do not want utms to be attached to the destination url, then use stealth mode. We will attribute the click with utms during redirect and then pass the visitor to the landing page without utms.

FAQ:

  • Q: What is the typical delay for updates to appear on a live URL after making changes to the Wicked Redirect UTMs (or WickedIDs) within a Wicked Reports account?
    A: 10 minutes
  • Q: Which ad platforms can disapprove redirect links as the final URL?
A: We are aware that Facebook & Google Ads can disapprove redirect links.
If your ads get disapproved, then update your destination URL to a landing page where the Wicked Tracking code can be placed.
  • Q: Why does my Redirect URL fail my Click Tracking Validation Test?
A: Redirect URLs are not always expected to pass tracking validation. The Click Tracking Validation tests check for UTMs and the Wicked Tracking Script, and the final landing page of the Redirect URL may not always have these in place. That's okay! You can still run a live test to ensure this is passing -> Simply click the link and then, the next day, go into the LTV report and search for your click in the "AnyClick" search tab.
